City Holiday Closures, Refuse Collection & Landfill Information

NEWS RELEASE

All City offices will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, December 24-25, 2012 in observance of the Christmas holiday. The Lamar Public Library will also be closed Monday, December 24th and Tuesday, December 25th and will reopen Wednesday, December 26th at 9:00 a.m. The Community Building will be closed on Monday, December 24th and Tuesday, December 25th, 2012 in observance of the holiday, but will reopen on Wednesday, December 26th, 2012.

Commercial refuse collection scheduled for Monday, December 24th will remain the same. Tuesday’s Commercial tubs will be the ONLY ones collected on Tuesday, December 25th. Collections scheduled for Wednesday, December 26th, Thursday, December 27th, and Friday, December 28th will remain the same.

Residential refuse collection scheduled for Monday, December 24th will remain the same. Collections for Tuesday, December 25th will be collected on Wednesday, December 26th. Collections for Thursday, December 27th and Friday, December 28th will remain the same. Please have your containers in place by 6:00 a.m.

The City Landfill facility will be closed on Tuesday, December 25 in observance of the holiday, but will be open Monday, December 24th, Wednesday, December 26th, Thursday, December 27th, and Friday, December 28th from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

NOTICE –Free weekend at the City Landfill for City of Lamar residents is Saturday, December 29th from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 30th from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The City Transfer Station will be open for free weekend only on Saturday, December 29th from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 30th from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., but will be closed at all other times. Commercial refuse will only be taken at the landfill and a commercial refuse fee will be charged at the landfill. There is a one-load limit at the Transfer Station. All other loads will have to be taken to the City Landfill during the free weekend.
