Colorado Eye Associates was started in 1985 by a team of doctors in Colorado Springs. One of those doctors is Dr. JG Baron. In addition to his Colorado Springs office, Dr. Baron opened a second location in Lamar, Colorado, in 2000 although he had been serving this community and the surrounding areas for the past 20 years.

Colorado Eye Associates is the place to be in Lamar. Whether you need your eyeglasses adjusted or you are in need of ophthalmic surgery, we can take care of you in the Lamar office. In addition to having two fully equipped patient examination rooms, optical lab, diagnostic center, our clinic in Colorado Springs houses an outpatient surgery center.

We invite you to meet our doctors and eye care professionals. Our 52 years of combined experience gives us the ability to answer your questions and meet all your vision needs in any one of our convenient locations.

Lamar’s Office Supervisor/Tech Sandy Schneider and the newest member of Colorado Eye Associates team Receptionist Crystal Griggs will try to make your eye care experience with us as pleasant and enjoyable as possible.

The Optical Shop offers the latest in designer eyeglasses in all styles and lenses for any age patient. Our optical shop has over 1000 frames to choose from and our experienced Optician, Delfina Perales will help you find what you are looking for. Our name brand sunglasses include the latest Oakley, Maui Jim and Costa. Our optician will clean, repair or adjust your existing eyeglasses.

Lamar Doctors are:

J. Gregory Baron M.D.

Dr. Baron graduated with a medical degree from the University of Minnesota, residency at University of Pennsylvania Sheie Eye Institute in Philadelphia. After serving two years with the U.S. Army as a surgeon, he established a private practice in Colorado Springs.

Dr. Baron’s extensive surgery expertise includes “no-stitch-small-incision” cataract surgery, corneal transplants and Laser Vision Corrections. Dr. Baron is a member of the CRS Lasik Investigational Group.

Dr. Baron still continues to travel to Lamar once a month to care for his patients, whom love and respect him.

Marta L. Walz O.D.

Dr. Walz graduated with a degree in optometry from the University of Houston, College of Optometry. In June 2000 she became an Associate of Colorado Eye Associates and has been working in the Lamar office, off and on, for the past 8 years. Dr. Walz specializes in primary car Optometry. She provides preoperative and post-operative care for Lasik and cataract patients. Dr. Walz also works at the Colorado Eye Associates Colorado Springs and Limon offices. Dr. Walz is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Colorado Optometric Association.

We accept most insurance plans, including Medicare, Medicaid, and Vision Service Plan.
