Letter to the Editor: Jillane Hixson for Prowers County Commissioner

Dear Citizens of Prowers County, 

As President of the Colorado State Senate, it is my honor to endorse Jillane Hixson’s candidacy for Prowers County Commissioner. 

I first became acquainted with Ms. Hixson in 2009, when she came to my office at the State Capitol to present concerns on behalf of land owners hurt by the Colorado conservation easement program.  I was

impressed by her sincere commitment to advocating on behalf of her Prowers County neighbors.  Over the years, I’ve come to know Ms. Hixson as an intelligent, dedicated, and honorable person.  She exhibits the leadership and honesty that Coloradans deserve from their elected officials, and I am proud to endorse her. 

Ms. Hixson went to the State Capitol to speak up for all of her neighbors, Democrats and Republicans alike.  Party affiliation made no difference to her.  She was focused on getting results for Prowers County.  At a time when politics is so divisive, Prowers County needs a no-nonsense and practical commissioner like Jillane Hixson.
