City of Lamar Sales Tax Revenue Squeaks into a Gain for September

Revenue was up less than a full percentage point for the August Use and Sales Tax, collected this past September, at 0.82%. That marks an increase over last year at $2,227.91 for City and Use Tax collections. 2011 revenues were at $271,596.95 for the month and 2012 showed revenues at $273,824.86.
Year-to-Date figures for City Sales Tax was up 4.14%, Use Tax collected was up 13.95% for a composite increase of 4.73% year to date and a gain over last year by $115,240.38. 2011 YTD collections were at $2,434,207.29 and 2012 is at $2,549,447.67. Year to date Vendor’s commissions were up over last year’s at $83,611.57, compared to $81,221.28. Library Sales Tax collections were off for 2012 at $41,164, compared to 2011 at $187,858.54.
