A Memorial service for Denver, Colorado resident and former Lamar, Colorado resident, Betty Anne Creaghe will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Lamar. Rev. Caryl Miller will officiate and Inurnment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar, Colorado.
Betty Anne (Hawkins) Creaghe was born to Beulah (Wright) and Sumpter Moore Hawkins in Fort Smith, Arkansas, on November 27, 1922. She died in Denver, Colorado on September 24, 2012.
Betty Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Bundick Creaghe of Lamar, Colorado; mother, Beulah Wright Hawkins; father, Sumpter Moore Hawkins, both of Fort Smith, Arkansas; daughter, Sally Wright Creaghe of Lamar, Colorado; brother, Wright Hawkins; and sister, Marion Hawkins Doss, both of Fort Smith.
She is survived by her son, Stephen (Dalyla) Creaghe of Denver, CO; four grandchildren, Christopher (Noelie) Creaghe of Arlington, VA, Sarah (Nick Holstein) Creaghe of Falls Church, VA, Patrick Creaghe of Denver, CO, and S. Matthew Creaghe of Centennial CO; as well as by two brothers, Franklin (Patricia) and Robert (Margaret Ann) Hawkins of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Betty Anne and Larry lived in Lamar for over thirty-two years where they raised their two children, ran their small businesses, and attended St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. In 1978 they retired to Coronado, CA where they lived until returning to Denver in 2004.
