Samuel N. Grasmick, Jr….January 1, 1941 – September 13, 2012

A graveside service for longtime Granada, Colorado resident, Sam N. Grasmick, Jr. will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, September 17, 2012 at the Hillside Cemetery in Granada, Colorado with Deacon Henry Wertin officiating. 

Per Sam’s request there will be no public viewing. 

Sam or “Luke” as he was affectionately known by many was born on January 1, 1941 to Samuel  and Pauline (Keller) Grasmick at La Junta, Colorado. He passed away following his courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, September 13, 2012 with his family by his side at the age of 71. 

He is preceded in death by his infant son Mark Anthony Grasmick, his first wife JoAnn (Centa) Grasmick and his parents. 

Luke is survived by his wife Kay Grasmick of the family home in Granada, his children; Sam Grasmick of Phoenix, AZ, Mindy (Tim) Emick of Pueblo, CO and Brenna Mullaly of Surprise, AZ. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Brittany, Brianne, Drew, Cameron, Colton and Spencer; great grandchildren; Grey and Kitt.  His siblings; Ron (Patty) Grasmick of Granada, Sandy Terwilliger of Pueblo West, CO and Cheri (Randy) Holmen of Lamar as well as his step children; Tricia (Jeff) Carper of Colorado Springs, Danielle (Travis) Monette-Molliere of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and his step grandchildren; Kirsten and Rachel also survive.  

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Granada Cemetery Improvement Fund or to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Peacock Family.
