5th Annual Hasty Daze Set for September 15

Area residents will come out Saturday, September 15 for a full day of fun with the 5th Annual Hasty Daze celebration and to recognize Hasty’s 105th Anniversary.
A pancake breakfast from 7am to 9am will start the festivities, making way for the 10am parade, celebrating the anniversary. The parade is sponsored by the Bent County Chamber of Commerce and the $5 entry fee will go to a scholarship fund.
A Classic Car and Motorcycle show and a Turner Antique Tractor and Lawnmower pull will get underway following the parade and you can stick around for the McClave FFA Chapter lunch being served between 11:30am and 1pm at Valley Grocery. Family entertainment rounds out the afternoon with various events from 1 to 5pm, including a horseshoe tournament, ice cream eating contest, seed spitting contest, Kids Rodeo and what’s known as a ‘frozen tee shirt contest’.
The Pierce Pit BBQ sponsored by Mountain Prairie LLC will be served from 5:30 to 7pm; from 6 to 7pm, Dudes and Dames Senior Cloggers will entertain; a community square dance will be held and an auction will follow the dancing. Freddy Darnell and the Country Gold will provide the tunes for the street dance from 7pm to 11pm that night, with a fireworks display scheduled for around 9pm.
