Mission Villanueva is Expanding

Contractors laid the finishing touches to a concrete base, site of a future walk-in freezer/cooler at Mission Villanueva in Lamar this past Wednesday, May 23.
Proprietor Roberta Masias said this past spring, the restaurant will begin alterations to develop a Cantina on the west side of the restaurant, where a small dining alcove now exists. A sizable walk-in cooler in the kitchen area will be moved to the outside of the building and rest on top of the concrete pad which was poured on Wednesday. That move will allow the alcove to be expanded to accommodate additional tables and a bar, allowing patrons to sit and watch their favorite games on tv, or to enjoy a meal at the bar.
Masias said the expansion plans call for a new HVAC system for the dining area, as well as a special, energy-efficient roof which will help to keep the utility bills down. No set date has been made for the opening of the new addition.
