The communities will celebrate the 21st Annual Granada/Bristol Days festivities this Friday, June 15 beginning with the benefit auction and supper for first responders and fire personnel. The dinner starts at 6:30pm at the Granada Complex.
The weatherman is calling for mostly sunny skies with temperatures on Saturday in the low 90s with only slight breezes and a 20% chance of rain in the afternoon. This will be perfect weather for the Saturday 10am parade and the traditional Amache Walk/Run that starts at 8am at the post office. Chez DuVall’s Restaurant will provide a breakfast Saturday between 7:30am and 9:30am.
The Granada Park will be the site for most of the day’s activities including the 11am frog and turtle race, the Goodale pie auction at 11:30 and vendors will have their booths set up for food and crafts at noon. The ping pong balls will come tumbling out of the sky at 1pm during Argie’s Famous Flyover and a T-ball exhibition game and a horseshoe tournament will start at 1:30pm.
Past graduates can renew acquaintances during the annual Granada Alumni Reception at Granada School at 5pm and the banquet begins at 6:30. Residents can round out the night with an ‘Open Air’ dance at the park between 8pm and 11pm. Throughout the day, folks can enjoy music, games and prize give-a ways every half hour.
