Healing Hands Massage Therapy, at 201 South 4th on the corner of East Olive Street and located in the business complex of, “It’s All About You,” is this week’s Prowers Journal, Business of the Week.

Business owner, Sherry Walls, LMT, LMMT, LST, has been in the field of massage therapy and related areas for over thirty-five years. Sherry trained in reflexology, kinesiology & aromatherapy, and developed her skills in different modalities of healing until moving on to her current practice as a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), Licensed Medical Massage Therapist (LMMT) & Licensed Stone Therapist (LST). Sherry also is certified in Reiki Energy Healing.

Trained as a Massage Therapist at the American Institute of Clinical Massage in Post Falls, Idaho, Sherry then worked at the Highlands Day Spa in Post Falls – an elite Spa located in the inland northwest region. Returning to Colorado in 2008, she practiced massage therapy at The Springs Resort & Spa in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Sherry was born in Elkhart, Kansas and raised in Lamar where she graduated from Lamar Community College. She returned to Lamar in 2009 to open her business of Healing Hands Massage Therapy and begin her own private practice.

Since returning to Lamar, Sherry is actively involved in several local charitable organizations. She is on the Board of Directors for the newly organized Remember Foundation, a foundation to support area families of Alzheimer’s patients, a member of the Lamar Chamber of Commerce Honkers and assisting with the fundraising events of the South Eastern Colorado Cancer Initiative (SECCI) and a member of the Lamar Eagles Auxiliary. Supporting the health and wellness of our community is a value that Sherry lives by.

The location for Healing Hands Massage Therapy was thoughtfully chosen due to the multitude of services provided at “It’s All About You.” Services in the complex consist of Reflexology (Butterfly Essentials), Chiropractic (Jon Anderson), Therapeutic Exercise Center (Amazing You), Hair and Nail Salon (Deja Vu), skin care rejuvenation (All About Skin), personalized home and body products (Makes Scents), and nutritional counseling (Mark Morrison). The building also houses a hot tub and sauna by appointment.

At Healing Hands you will experience personalized attention. Services provided by Sherry at Healing Hands Massage Therapy include relaxation massage, injury related rehabilitation massage therapies, pregnancy massage and other personalized needs. The knowledge of kinesiology, nutrition, reiki, hot & cold stone (hydrotherapy) each are combined to balance your body, mind & spirit.

Sherry regularly travels to Juniper Village and private homes to care for her clients that are home bound or cannot otherwise come to her for services. She also has a clientele of local athletes to work on sports related traumas for a faster return to optimal performance for athletes. Sherry enjoys the versatility of being a massage therapist and working with a great diversity of clientele. “Everyone is unique and different because their needs are unique and different.”
