Big Timbers History Corner #6 – Gold Medal from Lamar’s First Stock Show

Summer has barely started, but the Sand and Sage Fair will be here before you know it! Getting together for friendly competition about whose stock takes the prize is a great tradition. This gold medal was awarded to L. Wirt Markham’s Holsteins at Lamar’s first stock show.

Speaking of winners, Big Timbers Museum thinks their visitors all deserve blue ribbons for their support! Admission is only $3 for individuals; $5 lets you bring the whole family for a fun learning experience that also helps preserve our Prowers County heritage for future generations. Open 10 am to 5 pm Tues-Sat. Call 336-2472 for more details.
