Look Both Ways

Look Both Ways!

Excellent advice for anyone at any age. Look both ways crossing the street, at intersections and when crossing railroad tracks.

That point was driven home for Lamar elementary students this past Friday, attending a safety course sponsored by the Colorado branch of Operation Lifesaver at the Lamar Community Building. The national program teaches kids about railroad safety in general and especially around railroad tracks. Parked in front was a small, four-door compact made smaller by having most of the right side of the car ripped off from the impact of a train. That graphic display showed the students what could be the outcome of neglecting one of the first safety rules of the road, whether driving, riding your bike or walking.
