Lamar Police Make Holiday Drug Bust

Press Release–Lamar Police Department

On Saturday, May 26, 2012 at approximately 2:45 P.M., officers from the Lamar Police Department observed a silver Tahoe in the 200 block of East Park Street.

Officers recognized the driver as Paul Carrillo, 26, of Pueblo, Colorado from previous contacts.  Officers were advised Carrilo’s driver’s license was revoked as a habitual traffic offender.  Officers attempted to contact Carrillo and were advised he went into a residence.

Officers secured the vehicle and the residence that Paul Carrillo entered.  Officers located suspected cocaine and other drugs in the vehicle.  The vehicle was towed until a search warrant could be applied for.  Officers secured the house for approximately an hour until Paul came out of the house and officers arrested Paul Carrillo.    Paul Carrillo was taken into custody and held on a $50,000 bond.

On Tuesday, May 29, 2012 officers obtained and executed the search warrant for the vehicle.  Officers located a total amount of 27.4 grams of suspected cocaine, 57 unknown pills, and a small amount of suspected marijuana.  Estimated street value of the narcotics is $1500.
