Lamar City Offices Closed for Memorial Day Holiday

MEMORIAL DAY – PUBLIC NOTICE

All City offices will be closed on Monday, May 28, 2012 in observance of Memorial Day. The Community Building will also be closed on Monday, May 28, 2012. The Public Library will be open Saturday, May 26th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will be closed Sunday, May 27th and Monday, May 28th in observance of the holiday. All City offices will reopen on Tuesday, May 29, 2012.

Residential refuse collection scheduled for pickup on Monday will be collected on Tuesday, May 29th. Residential refuse route scheduled for Tuesday pickup will be collected on Wednesday, May 30, 2012. Please have containers in place by 6:00 a.m.

Commercial refuse collection regularly scheduled for pickup on Saturday will also have an extra collection on Monday, May 28th. Commercial Collection regularly scheduled for Monday, May 28th will be collected on Tuesday, May 29th.

The Cardboard Route will be collected on Tuesday, May 29, 2012.

The City Landfill will be open on Saturday, May 26th from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Sunday, May 27, 2012 from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The City Landfill will be closed Monday, May 28th and reopen Tuesday, May 29th as normally scheduled.

The Transfer Station area will be open Saturday, May 26th from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 27th from 12:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. – only for the Free Weekend.

NOTICE – this is a free weekend at the City Landfill and Transfer Station for City residents only.

Memorial Day decorations at Fairmount and Riverside Cemeteries can be put out at noon on Thursday, May 24th but need to be picked-up by 7:00 a.m. on Monday, June 4, 2012.

Lamar Public Swimming Pool will open on Saturday, May 26th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Pool will also be open Sunday, May 27th and Monday, May 28th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will begin regular hours of operation on Tuesday, May 29th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
