Prowers Medical Center Auxilliary

Prowers Medical Center Auxilliary members raise funds throughout the year to give back as scholarships to four Lamar Community College Level II (Registered Nurse/Associate Degree in Nursing) students. “We’re always looking for new members and additional ways to fundraise,” commented member Helen Emick. Since most of their projects revolve around handwork, individuals who can crochet, knit, quilt, or do handcrafts are invited to get involved.
Once a year, the PMC Auxilliary members meet their scholarship recipients. This year the group included Emick, Kathie Brown, Joan Passini, Vivian Ply, and Mary Rita Simmons and scholarship recipients, Morgan Bennett, Sharon Hinz, Margaret McDougal and Iliana Zavala. The opportunity gives volunteers and recipients the opportunity to get to know each other, and recipients can express their gratitude for the volunteers’ efforts.
The Lamar Community College Foundation assists with administration of the PMC Auxiliary Scholarships from promotion to selection and recipient tracking. The 2012-2013 PMC Auxiliary Scholarships are included in the LCC Foundation Community Scholarship Application. The packet includes Daniels Opportunity Fund, Darrell Cook Memorial, Ron Gomez Memorial, Johnson Financial Aid, Lamar Rotary Club, Prowers Medical Center Auxiliary, Rich Lovell, Robert Hoag Rawlings, and Lamar York Rite Bodies/Order of Eastern Star scholarships. Students may apply for one or all applicable scholarships in one effort. The LCCF Community Scholarship deadline is April 30. More information is available at www.lamarcc.edu/scholarships.
