Lamar Preseason Baseball & Softball Spring Camp

In recognition of our ball playing tradition, the LAMAR WORLD SERIES COMMITTEE is sponsoring a PRESEASON BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL SPRING CAMP, under the direction of Diamond Club Baseball, LLC from Wheat Ridge, Colorado.

Diamond Club Baseball, LLC is known for their outstanding instructional facility, youth programs, coaching and baseball teams in the Denver area.  They provide year-round personalized instruction to players of all ages and ability levels.  Further, Diamond Club Baseball is the home of the Colorado Rockies Scout Team – a carefully selected team of outstanding High School baseball players that travel and showcase their skills in front of college coaches and professional scouts.

Diamond Club Baseball directors are all experienced coaches with extensive baseball backgrounds as college players, ex-professionals players, or high school and college coaches.  They have a hand-picked coaching staff, selected for their teaching technique, professionalism, enthusiasm for the game, and their ability to communicate with young players.

The LAMAR PRESEASON BASEBALL & SOFTBALL SPRING CAMPS will consist of three days of intensive skills and technique training.  The Baseball Camps will be held on the Jim Earl and Valley National Fields, and the Softball Camps will be held on the Yellow and Green fields.

On Friday, May 4th, there will be a Free COACHES CLINIC, to be held at High Plains Adult Health Center, 2221 Wellness Way, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.  This training will prepare our area coaches to facilitate the Baseball and Softball Camps that will run over the following two days.

On Saturday, May 5th, 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., there will be an ALL SKILLS CAMP for both baseball and softball players covering skills improvements with:  hitting mechanics, bat speed, throwing mechanics, defense, footwork, throwing velocity and accuracy, base running and more.  The fee is $75 for this clinic.

On Sunday, May 6th, 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., there will be a PITCHING CLINIC, only.   The Pitching Clinic will cover a pitchers’ warm-up and a 5-step throwing progression. The fee for this clinic is $40.

ALL CLINICS will be broken down into small groups, for a low coach to player ratio, to cover mechanics and to improve the skills of each and every player.  Each clinic is open to players ages

8 to 18 – any High School ball players will need a release from their principal to participate.

The LAMAR PRESEASON BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL SPRING CAMP is sponsored by the Lamar World Series Committee, not only to promote the sports of Baseball and Softball in our area, but to encourage the talent of our youth, their coaches, and to support Lamar’s continued heritage of the “love of the game”.

Registration forms can be found at PCDI and the Lamar Community Building.  All registrations should be returned to the World Series Committee at PCDI, 201 South Main Street, Lamar, CO 81052.  All checks should be made payable to the World Series Committee.  Any questions should be directed to: Lisa Thomas (688-6107), Danielle Cook (688-3937) or Matt Neuhold (336-2774).  Spaces are limited and final registration will take place at the Lamar Community Building on Monday, April 23rd from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.  (Fundraising opportunities are available.)
