Drug Bust and Possible Drug Overdose

On Friday, April 20, 2012, Officers of the Lamar Police Department responded to the 900 block of S. Main St. on the report of a disturbance and a possible drug overdose. When Officers arrived on scene they contacted Armando Stephen Hernandez, age 33, of Lamar, who was reported to have been involved in a physical confrontation with a resident of the home. Officers also were advised that Hernandez was in possession of illegal drugs. A loaded syringe was observed in plain view and seized as evidence. Hernandez was taken into custody at the scene.
A search of his person revealed that he was in possession of several prescription pills which were schedule II controlled substances. Hernandez was charged with three counts of possession of schedule II controlled substances and transported to the Prowers County Jail where he was held on a $4,000 bond.
A female companion of Hernandez was transported from the scene by Lamar Ambulance to the Prowers Medical Center for treatment of a possible drug overdose.
