Several hundred elementary and middle school students put their best scientific foot forward Wednesday, March 7, at the annual Southeast Colorado Regional Science Fair held at Lamar Community College.
The LCC Wellness Center was full of students, exhibits and judges who were assessing the quality of the presentations from seven area schools, from Walsh to Alta Vista, Plainview, Holly, Springfield, Wiley and Lamar Middle School.
The fair, directed by Teri Lira and Robin Staker and LCC Coordinator David Northrup was an all day event, from the exhibition set up at 8am to 4pm where the projects were taken down following the awards ceremony.
Categories were broken down by grade levels for such displays as: Earth & Space, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Behavioral and Animal Science, Math & Engineering and Earth Science. Team projects were also judged from the various schools.
