Riley, Being Sworn In as Councilman by Judge Brinkley

Oscar Riley is sworn in as Lamar’s latest city council member by Judge Stanley Brinkley Friday morning, March 23.  The events are usually held during city council meetings, but as no judges will be available March 26 for the next council meeting, the event took place Friday morning.  Riley is replacing councilman P.J. Wilson who resigned as his new residence is outside the City of Lamar boundaries.

Mayor Roger Stagner said the council has begun to take steps to find a permanent city administrator to replace Bill Pfeilsticker who resigned in February.  Steven Rabe has been hired as an interim administrator and will help facilitate the search for suitable candidates.  Stagner said the process should take about five to six months to accomplish.  “We want to find the best possible person for the position,” he remarked, following the swearing-in ceremony for Riley.
