Magazine Scam in Area
Russ Baldwin | Mar 27, 2012 | Comments 0
The Lamar Police Department has received reports of individuals attempting to sell magazines door to door. The magazine salespeople are stating that they are representing the Lamar Community College and the magazines will be given to service men and women stationed abroad.
Lamar Community College officials advise that the college has not authorized anyone to sell magazine subscriptions for the college and a check with city offices indicates that no licenses for door to door solicitations have been issued for magazine sales.
The police department requests that anyone being contacted for magazines sales report the incident to law enforcement while the individuals are still in the area.
