Applications Available for Three Scholarships

Applications are now available for three scholarships being offered to prospective college students in Southeast Colorado. All scholarships are given in memory of Daniel Kasza.

Graduating seniors and alumnus of McClave High School are urged to apply for the Daniel Kasza Memorial Scholarship. One $500 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior, and one $500 scholarship will be awarded to an alumnus of McClave High School. Both will be based on leadership, scholarship and community involvement. Applications are due April 1, and may be obtained by emailing, calling or writing: jkasza@cminet.net, 719.829.4208, 27850 Rd. A second scholarship is available to graduating seniors who are 4-H members in Baca, Bent, Crowley, Cheyenne, Kiowa, Otero and Prowers counties, with additional criteria based on 4-H involvement. This $500 scholarship award will be chosen based on 4-H involvement, leadership, scholarship and community involvement. Applications for the 4-H scholarship are due April 1. A McClave High School graduate and an 11 year 4-H member, Kasza was a student at Ft Lewis College at the time of his death in June 2009. He was noted for his generosity and his enthusiasm for life. These scholarships are being given to the 4-H and McClave communities because of their importance to Daniel.
