Southeastern Developmental Services will be awarding a $500 scholarship in memory of Walter Ely.  Ely, who passed away December 11, 2010, was a well-known figure in Lamar from his one-man can collection drive along Main Street in throughout the community.  

SDS, Southeastern Developmental Services, will award a $500 scholarship in memory of Walter Ely.  Ely, who passed away December 11, 2010, was a well-known figure in Lamar from his one-man can collection drive along Main Street in throughout the community.   

Anyone who wishes to further their education is encouraged to apply.  There are no age restrictions.  To enter, please submit a 1,000 word essay as to why you should be awarded the scholarship.  The deadline for entries is May 7, 2012.  The winner will be announced in June, 2012.  All entries must be mailed to SDS Board of Directors, P.O.
