Lamar, COLORADO: The highly successful “Bon Appetit” class is coming to Lamar over spring-break. CSU Extension Agents Lacey Mann and Kaye Kasza have been teaching the class in Bent County and are expanding to Prowers County this year. Bon Appetit focuses on wellness, nutrition and physical activity while teaching basic food preparation skills to third- through sixth-grade students.
Bon Appetit will be held March 14, 15 and 16, giving youth a fun spring break activity. Participants can join the fun at the McClave United Methodist Church from 9-11 a.m., or come to the Home Economics Building at the Prowers County Fairgrounds from 12:30-2:30 p.m. each day. Pre-registration is required by March 7, along with a supply fee of $10. Registration forms are available at the Lamar Public Library, the Community Building, the CSU Extension Office in the County Annex, and on the Extension website http://prowers.colostate.edu/. For more information about the class, contact the CSU Extension Office in Prowers County at 336-7734 or in Bent County at 456-0764.
