Stranded by the Storm

Although our local region of southeast Colorado was not impacted by the snowstorm that hit hardest to the north, it was strong enough to cause a lot of experienced highway travelers to sit tight and wait it out. Some local motels also experienced a slight increase in patrons due to poor weather conditions.
A lengthy row of semi’s found a comfortable spot to park, in back of North Love’s in Lamar this past Friday afternoon, biding their time until the major highways along the Front Range were open for travel. The Love’s rear parking lot was enlarged and paved over last year to accomodate the eighteen-wheelers, both for parking and as a turnaround convenience from their travels along North Main Street.
