Relay for Life Committee Asking for Donations

The 2012 Relay for Life Committee of Lamar is asking businesses and individuals for donations of canned goods for the Luminaria bags that line the track during Relay. After Relay the canned goods will be donated to food banks in Prowers, Baca and Kiowa counties. The canned good will go inside the Luminaria bags to weigh them down during the Relay event so they do not blow over. Luminaria Bags can be purchased from any Relay for Life participant or you may contact the Luminaria Chair, Sherri Kerr at 336-3855. Luminaria bags are purchased in memory of loved that have lost their battle to cancer and in celebration of survivors who continue to fight cancer every day.

The Relay committee is also asking for donations of items to be entered into their Silent Auction. All proceeds from the items will go to the Relay for Life of Lamar. Any items will be accepted. The 2012 Relay for Life of Lamar will be June 2nd and June 3rd at Merrill Brush Field at Savage Stadium.
