Prowers County Democratic Caucus Set for March 6

Prowers County Democrats will caucus  March 06, 2012 at two locations in the County; Holly and Lamar.   The “caucus” is the starting point of the election process for local, state and national candidates;   establishing “delegates” who will proceed to the County Assembly, State and National Conventions.   The Prowers County Assembly will be held Saturday, March 31, in Lamar, CO;   the State convention will be held April 14th, Pueblo, CO, and the National convention will be held the week of  September 3rd, Charlotte, NC.

Who May Participate in the County Caucus:   A person may vote at the precinct caucus, be elected a delegate or an alternate from the caucus and/or be elected as a precinct committee person if they have been: 

* A resident in the precinct for at least 30 days, and
* Registered to vote in the precinct for at least 29 days, and
* A registered Democrat for not less than 2 months prior to the date of the caucus, according to any county clerk and recorder in the State of Colorado.
