Jones to Replace Nye as Parkview Principal

Aron Jones will become the new Parkview Elementary School principal in July, replacing Diane Nye who informed the Lamar Re-2 school board of her intention to retire at the end of the school year. School board members voted unanimously in favor during a special meeting held Tuesday afternoon, February 21.

Jones is the current Lamar Middle School principal. Superintendent Tecklenburg said the district will, in all likelihood, advertise for his replacement at the middle school later this season. In other action, the board decided to hold a work session meeting on March 5 and the regular meeting has been moved to March 19. The spring break will occur during the regularly scheduled meeting of March 12. The regular meeting will begin at 6:30pm.
