CSP Investigates Hwy Fatality in Bristol

The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a single vehicle fatality that occurred on Colorado Highway 385 Mile Post 102, approximately 3 miles north of Bristol in Prowers County.

A 2006 Chevrolet Pickup was traveling southbound on Colorado 385 and went off the right side of the road. The driver over-corrected to the left causing the Chevrolet to rotate counter-clockwise.  The Chevrolet re-entered the road and then went off the left side of the road. The Chevrolet then rolled two times, coming to rest on its wheels facing east.

The Chevrolet’s driver, a 29-year-old male Lance Brooks of Key West, FL, was unrestrained at the time of the accident and ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to Prowers Medical Center, where he died as a result of his injuries.

At this time, alcohol use and drug use are not considered to be contributing factors in the crash.
