Lamar resident and local business man, Delbert E. “Doc” Pearson passed away on January 15, 2012 at his home in Lamar with his family by his side. He was 72. Per Doc’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
Doc was born on February 5, 1939 at Alamosa, Colorado to John Pinkney and Hattie Violet (Creager) Pearson.
He is preceded in death by his parents, step-mother; Edith Pearson, sisters; Hattie Ellen Pearson, infant; Mona Schwab, Orpha Tweedy, Mary Bezona, brother; Pinkney Pearson, son-in-law; Mark Pennington and his uncle; Elmer “Unk” Davis.
Doc is survived by his wife; Deloris “Dee” Pearson of the family home in Lamar, his children; Delbert (Charlene) Pearson, Pam Pennington, Steve Pearson all of Lamar, Danny (Marcia) Pearson of Evans, CO and Rex (Sherry) Pearson of Walsenburg. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Brandon (Kara), Sheldon, Dustin (Tana), Chris (Yasmine), Cory (Rhiannon), Jaton, Hanna and Elizabeth Pearson, Laci and Holli Pennington, and Sam (Candace) Zordel, as well as eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice or the charity of one’s choice either direct or in care of the funeral home office. Services are under the direction of the Peacock Family.
