91st Annual Lamar Chamber Banquet this Evening

The annual Lamar Chamber of Commerce meeting and banquet will begin at 6pm this evening at the Cow Palace Inn, North Main Street, Lamar.  A ‘meet and greet’ will begin at 6pm and the banquet will follow at the inner courtyard of the Cow Palace Inn. 

The new Chamber Board of Directors for 2012 will be introduced at the gathering which will also feature remarks from outgoing President for 2011, Jillian Tinnes and from the 2012 President, Axel Thurner.  Other activities include the presentation of the Lamar Chamber, Honker of the Year and the evening will be capped with the naming of Citizen of the Year for Lamar.  Nominating entries were received earlier in the year.  The criteria for Citizen of the Year include proven abilities in leadership, community involvement and cooperation and support in various community and business projects which have benefitted the population of Lamar.
