‘Tis the Season

Lamar City workers have been busy the past few days, putting up the holiday decorations along Main Street in town.  With just over a month to go before Christmas arrives, there’s a slate of holiday related activities on the way. 

The 8th Annual Fantasy Tree Celebration is set for Saturday, November 19 at the Lamar Elks Lodge, the annual Holly Commercial Club Turkey Drawing is also this Saturday afternoon, the nationally recognized ‘Black Friday’ sale day after Thanksgiving is on the horizon, the Ark Valley Wind and Percussion Christmas Concert is at LHS on November 29, the annual Two Shot Goose Hunt begins November 30, the Chamber of Commerce Parade of Lights is set for December 2 as well as the Candy Cane Festival, Wreaths Across America will be observed on December 10 and Holly’s Christmas Gift Drawing is December 10 as well.  Their Christmas Light judging will be held December 12.  The annual Holiday Basketball Tournament in Lamar begins December 15, Winter arrives December 21 and so does Santa on Saturday, December 25.
