Sunday Garage & Truck Fire Contained

The Lamar Fire and Ambulance Department responded at about 5:30pm, Sunday afternoon, to a fire on Highland Street in Lamar.   The Fire Department determined that a plastic source from the pick up truck first ignited and spread to a portion of the garage.   

The crew extinguished the truck fire and was then able to put out the fire to the front of the garage.  The front of the building was burned and the garage door was a total loss.  There were no injuries noted in the summary report from the Fire Department.  It was thought the probable cause of the fire was the Speed Control mechanism on the pick-up.
