Ruth I. Snider…November 30, 1923 – November 23, 2011

    A Celebration of Life Service for Longtime rural Lamar resident Ruth I. Snider will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday November 30, 2011 at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Lamar, CO. . Rev. Gayland Aubrey and Rev. Bob Carpenter will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar, CO.
    Visitation for Mrs. Snider will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday November 29, 2011 and prior to the services on Wednesday November 30, 2011 at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Lamar, CO.
    Ruth was born November 30, 1923 in rural Bent County, Colorado. She departed this life on Wednesday November 23, 2011 at her home northwest of Lamar at the age of 87.
    Mrs. Snider was preceded in death by her mother Mary Ann “Annie” Farley-Winters of Lamar, CO. on July 15, 1952; by her father William L. Winters of Lamar, CO. on May 30, 1966; by her husband Manuel Snider of Lamar, CO. on May 15, 2000; by her son Darrell Snider of Lamar, CO. on July 25, 1990; by her daughter-in-law Shirley Snider of Wiley, CO.; by a granddaughter Linny Antonio of Denver, CO.; and by a great grandson Raymond Churchill of Denver, CO. Also preceding her in death were four sisters Ethel Sims, Ellen Russell, Frieda Natali, and Naomi Krieg; and four brothers Iris Winters, Harvey Winters, Orville Winters, and Lawrence Winters.
    Ruth is survived by three children Sherry (Don) Antonio of Friday Harbor, WA., Melinda Nicholl of Littleton, CO. and Donald (Martha) Snider of Ft. Morgan, CO.; by seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and by a sister Goldie Harrison of Alden, KS.. Also surviving are numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and many friends.
