Funeral services for longtime Lamar resident, LeRoy L. Harrington, will be held at 11:00 AM Friday October 7, 2011 at the Peacock Funeral Home in Lamar. Ian Blacker of the Lamar Christian Church will officiate the service and burial will follow in the Veteran’s Section of Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar with full military honors and flag presentation by the Lamar V.F.W. Post # 3621 and the Lamar American Legion Post # 71.
Visitation for LeRoy will be held from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday October 6, 2011 and prior to the service on Friday at the Peacock Family Chapel.
Mr. Harrington was born on May 11, 1942 in La Sal, Utah to William Harrington and Ruth (Baldauf) Harrington and departed this life on Sunday October 2, 2011 at the Denver V.A. Medical Center in Denver, Colorado at the age of 69 following a lengthy illness.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his father – William C. Harrington; by his mother – Ruth Ray; and by his step-father – Archie Ray; and by four brothers – Robert, Henry, George, and William Harrington.
LeRoy is survived by three sisters – Doris Parsons of Lamar; Myrtle (Don) Tayloe of Lamar; and Joyce (Gary) Turner of Oklahoma; also surviving are nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
