Holly Commercial Club Plans for Fair and Christmas Activities

The Holly Commercial Club held their monthly meeting this past Wednesday, September 7th at the United Methodist Church to plan future activities on the calendar.

With the annual Holly Fair around the corner, Michael Daskum needs volunteers to help set up for the fair I the Old Gym on Wednesday, September 21st and again for entry sign up on Thursday the 22nd at 3:30pm.  A few more volunteers will be welcomed on Friday for help with judging and ribbon disbursement.    There’s still room for vendor’s tables at $15 per booth, and information booths only, are free.  The Holly Commercial Club will have a booth in this year’s fair.  The theme for 2011 is, “A Family Tradition”.

A volunteer is needed to chair this year’s Taste of Holly Craft Fair on Saturday, December 3 in the Old Gym.  Deb Crossland, who has chaired the event for many years, will not be able to serve this year.  Interested persons should contact Ralph Plummer.

Some suggestions were made for activities for the Christmas season including:  coordinating the Town of Holly and Holly schools for the annual lighting of the Christmas Tree in front of the Medical Clinic, and use that area as the site of the Christmas drawings.  Pearl Reyman and Cynthia Simon will organize the drawings for the Christmas Committee.  The school’s Christmas program this year is set for December 13, and efforts will be made to have the tree lit by then.

The Holly Commercial Club meets at noon on the first Wednesday of every month.
