Bessie Lee Powell…January 21, 1937 – September 27, 2011

      
 A Graveside Memorial Service for former Lamar resident and currently of Cheyenne Wells, CO Bessie L. Powell will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the Fairmount Cemetery with Pastor Martin Davis of the Grace Lutheran Church in Cheyenne Wells officiating.   Per Bessie’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation.

 Bessie was born on January 21, 1937 in Lamar, Colorado to Luther and Virginia (Eddy) Walker and passed away at Keefe Memorial Hospital in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado on September 27, 2011 at the age of 74.

 Bessie is preceded in death by her parents, first husband Orval Sniff, second husband Henry Powell and her grandson Spencer Sharp.

 She is survived by her children; Orlene Miller of Adamstown, Maryland, Lorrie (Rex) Payne of Satanta, KS, Gaila Mitchek of Cheyenne Wells, Orval Sniff of Cheyenne Wells, Troy (Christine) Sniff of Eaton, CO, William (Michaelene) Powell also of Eaton, CO, Sham Powell of Cheyenne Wells, Cody (Korena) Powell of Flagler, CO and Jody Sharp of Cheyenne Wells. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 2 sisters; Betty (Don) Kershner of Sheridan Lake, CO, LaHoma (Dave) Stang of Palmer Lake CO as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.

 Memorial contributions may be made to the Cheyenne Wells Senior Citizens Center or Keefe Memorial Hospital direct or in care of Peacock Funeral Home.   Arrangements are under the direction of the Peacock Family.
