Memorial services for longtime Lamar resident Jim D. Turner will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday August 9, 2011 at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Lamar, CO.. Rev. Ian Blacker will officiate.
Per Jim’s request cremation has taken place and there will be no public visitation.
Jim was born on March 23, 1942 at Lamar, Colorado and departed this life on August 1, 2011 at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO. at the age of 69.
Mr. Turner was preceded in death by his mother Vera M. Powell Turner of Springfield, CO. in 1969; by his father James E. Turner of Lamar, CO. in 1982; by a sister Peggy Connelley of Ft. Morgan, CO. in 1972; and by one brother Gary Turner of Pleasanton, TX.
Jim is survived by his former wife and best friend Linda Turner of Lamar, CO.; by a daughter Sylvia Jean (Richard) Harrison of Canyon, TX.; one grandchild; a step-daughter Adele Yant of Lamar, CO.; by one brother Jack (Ruthie) Turner of Lamar, CO.; by four sisters Phylis (Kevin) Stewart of Kileen, TX., Leona (Herb) Morlan of McClave,CO., Carol (Charlie) Whiting of Lamar, CO., and Vickie (Brad) Gaskill of Greeley, CO.; as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
