Glee Lance – August 11, 1929 – August 5, 2011

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service for longtime Lamar resident, Glee Lance, will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 11:00AM at the Peacock Family Chapel with Pastor John Morrison of the Lamar Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 2:00 PM (CST) at Lance Cemetery in Alton, Missouri.

Visitation for Glee will be held on Monday, August 8, 2011 from 1:00PM until 7:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.

Glee was born on August 11, 1929 at Alton, Missouri to Samuel Sterling and Lora Edith (Harriell) Lance and passed away on August 5, 2011 at the home of her friend near Granada at the age of 81.
 She is preceded in death by her first husband; Ray D. Baker, parents, and siblings; Ora Zee Lance and Lillie Fay Burleson.

 
Glee is survived by her brothers; Daniel Van (Leona) Lance of St. Louis, Missouri, Emanuel Mac (Lillian) Lance of Granite City, Illinois and Dow William (Reva) Lance of Alton, Missouri; by one sister, Edith Fern Kirby of Imboden, Arkansas; and by her special companion; John Bates of Lamar as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
