A teenage driver was injured when his white pick-up truck rolled while eastbound on CRMM, off CR6 around 10:15 Friday morning, July 1.  The youth was not identified, and was transported to Prowers Medical Center for treatment for what appeared to be non, life-threatening injuries.

No one witnessed the accident, but a local driver for UPS and an employee of the city of Lamar came upon the rollover shortly after it occurred and called 911.  They remained with the youth, making him comfortable until emergency responders from the Lamar Ambulance Service, Rural and Wiley Fire Departments and Prowers County Deputies arrived on scene.  The accident occurred about a quarter-mile short of the CRMM and CR6 intersection.

Officials believe the driver may have lost control on the dirt road, went into a ditch and rolled the pick-up one and a half times, coming to rest on its roof and crossways in the middle of the road.  It’s not known at this time if the driver was wearing a seatbelt or if excessive speed contributed to the accident
