Lamar Community College hosted its annual Adult Open House event Tuesday, July 12, at the Betz Technology Center Atrium. The open house was coordinated with the Lamar Chamber of Commerce, and its monthly Business After Hours event for July.
The Adult Open House presents various educational opportunities for the adult community in Lamar and the region. Various booths offered information on adult classes, as well as an opportunity for persons to apply as adjunct instructors at the college. Pre registration will be available on July 18 and 19, and applicants can meet with their academic advisor at that time and register for courses. Fall orientation will be held August 19-20 and most courses begin the week of August 22.
The college and the Lamar Chamber of Commerce have noted that July 22 is the deadline for area businesses and organizations to rsvp for free booth space at the college for a Community Exposition. The Expo will provide an opportunity for transfer and new students and their families to become acquainted with the retail businesses in Lamar and various service organizations. The Expo will begin at 11am with set up time for 8 by 8 foot tables between 9am to 10:30am. Approximately 150-200 students will be on hand for registration at Lamar Community College at that time.
