Holly Commercial Club Prepares for Holly Fair & Holly Hock-It Day

Holly Hock-It Day is set for Saturday, August 6 this year.  Commercial Club members met Wednesday, July 6 to discuss the event and decided that only Holly residences would be included in the event, but out of town persons could set up booth space in the Holly Park.

Holly Town Administrator, Marsha Willhite asked if a local business would prepare the Holly Fair Booth for the Commercial Club this year instead of the Town of Holly.  She said photo files of past fairs and parades are available from the Town of Holly, and could be incorporated into a display at the booth.  The Holly Fair will run from September 22nd to the 24th this year.  Gene Millbrand, inquired if the annual Holly Christmas Cards could be available for sale during the fair, or if not, orders for the cards could be taken at that time.  Committee member, Tracee Kalma said the she’d contact the local artist on the possibility.

The treasurer’s report indicated that after all bills had been paid, the Commercial Club would net close to $400 for the Friday evening, Holly Blue Grass Jam meal.

In other news, SECED, Southeast Colorado Enterprise Development, Inc. brochures were distributed, providing information regarding home and business loans as well as loans for job creation based on how many new employees would be generated.  Anne-Marie Crampton, representing Lamar Community College, reminded the gathering of the Adult Open House planned at LCC from 2-4pm on Tuesday, July 12.  The Holly Commercial Club meets the first Wednesday of every month at Noon at the United Methodist Church.

Correction:  The LCC Adult Open House will run from 4pm to 7pm on Tuesday, July 12.
