Lamar Rotary: End of Year Party

Quackers

George Goto, Karen Ketchum

Lamar Rotary celebrated its 2010-2011 accomplishments with an end of the year party at the home of outgoing president, George Gotto. Current members and prospective new members enjoyed the evening and celebration of the past year events and turning the page to the new year under the direction of incoming president, Karen Ketchum.

The club invited prospective members and their families to be guests at the event to learn more about Rotary in a family-friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Special guest Quackers, a large inflatable duck, joined Lamar Rotarians this year to help bring greater awareness for Lamar Rotary and the Ducky Dash, an annual fundraiser event. This event is held during Lamar Days and provides funds to purchase dictionaries for all third graders in Baca, Bent, Kiowa, and Prowers counties as well as the other service projects to improve our community and our world.

Rotary is a volunteer organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide to provide humanitarian service and help build goodwill and peace. Lamar Rotary members work together to improve our community and accomplish great things. For more information about Lamar Rotary, contact Karen at 719.336.5550.
