Wiley 4-H Club News

A new year has begun for the Wiley 4-H Club!!!!! We have been busy since our first meeting in January. The Wiley 4-H Club has 15 members, adding a few new members to our club. Our newly elected club officers are President Ty Witt, Vice President Tel Parmely, Secretary and Reporter Miranda Morgan, Treasurer Kirsten Summers, and County Council Representatives Danielle Wallace and Madison Summers.

The Club has been full of activities from going to project workshops, doing projects at home, and demonstrations for club meetings. Recently, the Wiley 4-H Club put on a record book workshop for kids who needed help on their record books or who wanted to get started on their books. The Wiley 4-H Club entered the contest to find a new theme for the Sand and Sage Fair this year. Our entry was “Small Town Fair, Big Time Fun”, which won the theme contest!

In May the Wiley 4-H Club has recently planted flowers in downtown Wiley for the Wiley Hay Days. Wiley Hay Days is on June 17th and June 18th. Come out with family and friends and enjoy the fun and games! The Wiley 4-H Club will be doing a Petting Zoo at the Carnival on June 18th on the Wiley football field. The Carnival begins at 9a.m and ends at 12p.m. The Petting Zoo will only be set up from 9a.m to 10:30a.m.

Next month, the club will be having our annual project tour and swim party. The project tour gives a chance for those members to show their livestock without the hassle of bringing their animals to the Wiley Community Building. After the project tour in the morning we will eat lunch as a club, then, we will be going swimming at the Lamar Swimming Pool to conclude our last meeting for the year!
