Lamar Prowers County Volunteer Fireman Working for Fireworks Goal

The Lamar Prowers County Volunteer Fire Department is hoping to reach their $8,000 goal for the 2011 July 4th fireworks show.  Members will be walking the Lamar neighborhoods using their fire boots to collect funds for the annual display.  You can identify members as they will wear their department t-shirts. If someone comes to your door who is not in a fire department shirt they do not belong with the fire department.

The Lamar Public Library is also collecting fines for fireworks for this month. If you would like to donate please contact the Lamar Fire Department at 336-4321 to arrange for your donation to be picked up, or you may drop donations off at the fire station. The person or business that donates the most amount will assist the department in firing off the fireworks. The annual display will be held Monday, July 4th around 9 pm at the Prowers County Fairgrounds.
