Private Memorial services for longtime Syracuse, KS resident Dorothy A. Sharp will be held at a later date in Sidney, Nebraska.

Mrs. Sharp was born February 25, 1915 at Sidney, NE. and departed this life on Friday June 24, 2011 at the Hamilton County Hospital in Syracuse, KS. at the age of 96.

Per the family request, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation.

Mrs. Sharp was preceded in death by her parents Harry Brewer and Mildred Brockway-Brewer of Sidney, Nebraska; by her husband Lawrence M. Sharp of Syracuse, KS.; and by two grandchildren, Dru Sharp of Syracuse, KS. and Dana Sharp also of Syracuse, KS..

Dorothy is survived by two sons, Richard Sharp of Syracuse, KS. and Larry (Louise) Sharp of Ventura, CA.; by two grandchildren, Kari (Clay) Corneil of Wichita, KS. and Lynn (Bob) Kopp of CA.; by six great-grandchildren; by  her sister, Beulah Mollett of Brighton, CO.; by her former daughter in law, Jane Sharp of Syracuse, KS.; as well as by other relatives and friends.
