Four residents were appointed to the Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council Thursday, May 19. DeAnne Tyner, Freida Roberts and Lois Black were appointed as active members of the council, with Bobbie Thrall appointed as an alternative member.
The commissioners accepted Tom Landis’ resignation from the Prowers Lodging Tax Tourism Panel. The commissioners conducted a review of letters of interest for a position on the panel and selected Brad Semmens to serve as a member. Semmens owns and operates Country Acres RV and Motel.
A facility rental agreement with Farm Credit of Southern Colorado was approved for use of the county fairgrounds, and the commissioners waived the rental fees for Lamar High School DECA students. In other action, the commissioners approved ratification of a resolution to have Governor Hickenlooper declare a drought disaster for Prowers County. The contract with Winterset Concert Events was approved for musical entertainment for this summer’s Sand and Sage Fair.
