Mayor Stagner signs Nurses Week Proclamation at PMC
Prowers Medical Center in Lamar joins other communities with the observance of National Nurses Week celebrated annually in honor of Florence Nightingale, founder of Nursing as a modern profession, and the millions of people who have followed in her footsteps. “Nurses Trusted to Care” is the American Nurses Association’s (ANA) theme for National Nurses Week 2011.
The purpose of this week is to raise awareness of the value of Nursing and to help educate the public about the roles that Nursing Professionals play in meeting the needs of their communities. At Prowers Medical Center, nurses are trusted to care for those in need 24 hours a day / 365 days a year.
The Professional Nursing Personnel at Prowers Medical Center consistently advocate for their patients, as well as function as the liaison between the Healthcare Providers, ancillary departments and families. They demonstrate a high level of caring – dedication – and commitment as they provide quality patient care to our community.
Mayor Roger Stagner was on-site this past Wednesday, May 4, to issue a proclamation for National Nurses Week recognizing the Professional Nursing Personnel who are associated with Prowers Medical Center. The Proclamation will be read at the Lamar City Council Meeting.
Tuesday, May 10th through Thursday, May 12th – The 2011 Annual Health Fair will be held at Prowers Medical Center from 7:00am – 11:00am each day.
