Lamar City & County Office Schedule: MEMORIAL DAY

All City offices will be closed on Monday, May 30, 2011 in observance of Memorial Day. The Community Building will also be closed on Monday, May 30, 2011. The Public Library will be open Saturday, May 28th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will be closed Sunday, May 29th and Monday, May 30th in observance of the holiday. All City offices will reopen on Tuesday, May 31, 2011.

Residential refuse collection scheduled for pickup on Monday will be collected on Tuesday, May 31st. Residential refuse route scheduled for Tuesday pickup will be collected on Wednesday, June 1, 2011. Please have containers in place by 6:00 a.m.

Commercial refuse collection regularly scheduled for pickup on Saturday will also have an extra collection on Monday, May 30th. Commercial Collection regularly scheduled for Monday, May 30th will be collected on Tuesday, May 31st. The Cardboard Route will be collected on Tuesday, May 31, 2011.

The City Landfill will be open on Saturday, May 28th from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Sunday, May 29, 2011 from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The City Landfill will be closed Monday, May 30th and reopen Tuesday, May 31st as normally scheduled.

The Transfer Station area will be open Saturday, May 28th from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 29th from 12:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. – only for the Free Weekend.

NOTICE – this is a free weekend at the City Landfill and Transfer Station for City residents only.

Memorial Day decorations at Fairmount and Riverside Cemeteries can be put out at noon on Thursday, May 26th but need to be picked-up by 7:00 a.m. on Monday, June 6, 2011.

Lamar Public Swimming Pool will open on Saturday, May 28th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Pool will also be open Sunday, May 29th and Monday, May 30th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will begin regular hours of operation on Tuesday, May 31st from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Prowers County Office Closures for Memorial Day:

All County Offices including the Courthouse will be closed on Monday, May 30, 2011, in observance of Memorial Day.
