The Winning Duck - #727

The annual Lamar Rotary ducky dash was held this past Sunday, May 15 and Four States Feed Yard held the winning ticket, #727, sold by Rotarian Anne Crampton. Four States Feedyard wins $750 in cash for their ticket purchase. Second Place winner was Kory DeWitt, for $500 and third place went to Wiley United Methodist Church for $250.

Rotarian Mike Renken said there was a good turnout for the traditional release of the ducks for their spree along the Lamar Canal. The proceeds from ticket sales are used in many different ways, Renken said. Each year Rotary members purchase and distribute dictionaries to 3rd and 4th graders at numerous schools in southeast Colorado. He said the funds will also be used to help expenses for the July high school leadership conference, and for the monthly purchase of kids books for the Lamar Library.
