Lamar Police Make Arrests on Saturday Night Stabbing
On April 9, 2011 at approximately 10:00 P.M. officers from the Lamar Police Department responded to the 100 block of West Hickory Street on report of an injured man in the street.
The injured man was identified as Brian Hager, 34, of Lamar was transported to Prowers Medial Center and later transferred to Denver General Health. Brian is still at Denver General Health in critical condition.
Officers on scene were able to identify three of the individuals involved in an altercation with Brian. The three individuals were arrested for their involvement in the incident.
Arrested were Abraham Kalani, 31, of Wiley, Shane Kalani, 28, of Wiley, and Daniel Knight, 32, of Lamar. A. Kalani was charged with one count of first degree assault, S. Kalani was charged with one count of first degree assault, and Knight was charged with one count of felony menacing and one count of disorderly conduct.
There are more charges expected to come from this case as the investigation continues.
Media Release on Shots Fired in Lamar
On 04/09/11 at approximately 9 pm Officers of the Lamar Police Department were dispatched to the 400 block of North 8th Street on the report of shots fired in the area. Upon arrival, officers contacted with several residents of the area. The parties contacted were unwilling to assist police with the investigation or prosecution of the incident. Officers were able to locate several spent shell casings in the street which were collected as evidence. The investigation continues at this time.
